Langtang trek

Langtang valley lies in the north of Kathmandu. Just a few drive from Kathmandu will take you to the beautiful Langtang Valley. Langtang Trekking is termed to be the third most popular trekking route after Everest Base Camp Trek & Annapurna Base Camp Trek. Though this trek is of medium category, due to some unknown reason it is not popular among trekkers like Everest & Annapurna Base Camp Treks. Langtang trek covers less trekking trials where you can find the mesmarising views of mountains,grassy lands along with dense rhododendron & pine forests.

You can have this trek in any of the seasons. Usually, (Spring) March,April,May & (Autumn) September,October & November are termed to be the best seasons for this trek. During this trek, you will be able to know about the lifestyles & cultures of Tamangs residing in Langtang Valley.

  • Day 1(Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m))
    Upon your arrival in the Kathmandu, you will be greeted by a representative of Red Carpet Travels and Tours.  He will help you to transfer to hotel. After check in, you can either take a rest or hang around in the city depending on your interest and time constraint. Stay overnight at Hotel.
  • Day 2(Kathmandu Sightseeing)
    After breakfast, we will meet our professional city guide.  He will help you to the whole day during sight-seeing in Kathmandu valley. you will start an interesting tour from One of  historical site, Basantapur Darbar Square, after that Swaymbunath Temple( Monkey Temple) and  following the itinerary we will  be heading another famous Hindu Temple Pasupatinath Temple.
  • Day 3(Drive to Syabrubesi)
    After breakfasr after, we will drive to Syabubesi by  our private vehicle.6/7 hrs. Drive. On the way,  the road goes throughout the scenic  glimpse Ganesh Himala, Gaurisanker, Manaslu , terraced hills along with lush green forest that allure you during the drive. Dhunche, which is headquarter of Rasuwa district. It’s  quite busy for trading hub, Your trekking guide will meet the check post and take the permission to enter the National Park area. Driving around one and half hours the descent down the valley you will be arrived at Syabrubesi. Here’s many tea houses and Shop around the sybrubeshi. So if you want to purchase anything related to trekking stuffs still you have a time to get it. Stay overnight at Sybrubeshi Lodge.
  • Day 4(Shabrubeshi to Rimche (2,500m) via Khangjim and Sherapagaon)
    Today is your trekking day, you start by crossing the small bridge just north of Shabrubeshi and the trail immediately starts ascending. While there is a forward road up to Khangjim your guide will probably take you up the traditional walking trail. The trail is much steeper than the road but this is the traditional trekking route used by local people. It will probably take about two or three hours to reach Khangjim where you can take short Tea break or rest while.. You are now high above the river valley and you have your first views to snow-capped peaks. The trail then winds high along the valley wall as you head into the Langtang Valley and head for Sherapagaon. After some late lunch in Sherapagaon you continue your gentle ascent to Rimche.
  • Day 5(Rimche to Mundu (3450m) )
    From Rimche you will follow the original valley-floor trekking trail up the Langtang Valley. Damage to bridges and the trekking trail have all been pretty much completed and so the walking on these subsequent days will be much easier than yesterday. The trail takes you through rhododendron and pine forest for around three hours to reach Ghoda Tabela where you can stop for lunch. The trail then continues on and reaches the site of Langtang village. However this may be a very sombre and perhaps distressing sight as the village was entirely destroyed by a massive landslide caused by the 2015 earthquake. The trek will then continue on the short distance to the little village of Mundu.
  • Day 6(Mundu to Kyanjin Gompa (3,817m))
    Not need  to hard  walk today. You have time to take it easy and a slow pace will also help you acclimatise. Enjoy the view Mount Langtang Lirung that would very close to you. You may also like to visit to the Yak Cheese Factory and have some cheesy bread. If you are interested to climb, Kyanjin Ri(4,800m/15748ft) or Tserko Ri (5,000m/16404ft)our trekking guide help you to reach on the top of the peak.
  • Day 7(Explore around Kyanjin Gompa and Hike to Langsishakharka)
    Today you may rest or explore the Langsisakharka. The trail goes to lap the Himalaya glacier. You don’t need to hard effort in this trip .walking smoothly up and down and crossing the langtang river ,you will be at lagtangshisakharka which offers  stunning mountains view  including Langtang Lirung,Langtang Ri, Yala peak etc.
  • Day 8(Kyanjin Gompa to Rimche (2,500m) )
    Today we retrace our journey to Rimche so it’s quite longer day.To  be assured its not to need to climb any higher elevation , all the way we walk downhill so you will be fine. There will not any fear of attitude sickness when we go down.
  • Day 9(Rimche to Shabrubeshi (1,460m) via Sherapagaon and Khangjim)
    Today is last day of trekking. We will rapidly down to the Shabrubeshi where we had begun the journey. We will relax with hot shower and enjoy the food. Stay overnight at hotel.
  • Day 10(Drive back to Kathmandu)
    After breakfast, we all back to Kathmandu by our private vehicle. Our guide help you to transfer you hotel. Stay overnight at Kathmandu hotel.
  • Day 11(Free Day in Kathmandu)
    Today is free time to explore Thamel and do shopping for you, for your friends and family. In the evening we will have a farewell dinner with culture programme.
  • Day 12(Final Day Flight Departure)
    Your trip comes to an end today! There is nothing to do. Our airport representative will take you to the airport approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight.
