Jomsom Muktinath Trek

Jomsom Muktinath Trek is an exhilarating trek that offers some of the most dramatic views of the Himalayas and offers a stark contrast in scenery as it emerges on the dry Tibetan plateau to the far north. It also allows for a number of unique cultural encounters with people who maintain their ancient traditions. The maximum altitude is 3800m, and a moderate level of physical fitness is required to complete this trekking.

For the first stage of Jomsom Muktinath Trek journey, we will be able to enjoy spectacular views of the rice terraces and mountainside, and pass a number of villages inhabited by Gurung ethnic communities. In Ghandruk, we will be able to visit the fascinating Museum of Traditional Nepalese Life. The following morning, we ascend through magnificent rhododendron forests, where the playful Langure monkeys will entertain us. Emerging from the forest, we will be able to appreciate the majestic landscape of the Annapurna range.

We will make the short trek to Poon Hill (3210m). From here, we can admire the sunrise over the wide expanse of the Himalayas and surrounding rice terraces, a photographer's paradise. We continue to the ancient pilgrimage area of Tatopani, where we will be able to relax in the soothing hot springs. We follow the breathtaking Kali Gandaki River Valley which is the deepest gorge in the world flanked by the immense statures of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna 1 (both exceeding 8000m). Continuing our ascent, we will be able to marvel at the gargantuan glacier of Dhaulagiri. We will arrive on the dry windy planes of the Tibetan plateau (2600m) where the sacred pilgrimage site of Muktinath temple (3800m) is situated,
