Druk Path Trek is one of the most popular treks in Bhutan. It is a short and scenic trek with some great views and beautiful lakes en route. Although it leads up to altitudes above 4,000m it is not too strenuous as walking distances between the camps are not too long. Besides the lakes, it is the Phadjoding monastery that is one of the highlights of this trek.

This is one of the most scenic and popular treks in Bhutan, following a wilderness trail past several remote lakes. Although it is a short trek, it still goes to a high altitude making it moderately strenuous. You will find this trek as one of the most facinating one among all the treks in Bhutan owing outstanding scenic beauty of the himalayas. This short interesting Druk Path trek follows the ancient high level-route between Paro & Thimpu.

  • Day 1(Arrival in Kathmandu (1300 m) & transfer to hotel)
    Upon your arrival in the Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted by Red Carpet Tours and Travels representative and transferred to hotel. After check in, you can either take a rest or hang around in the city depending on your interest and time constraint. In the evening, there will be a pre-trip discussion, introducing with your Tour guide. You will have an opportunity to ask any questions related to the tour program. Overnight in hotel
  • Day 2(Kathmandu Sightseeing)
    Today after breakfast, we start a guided sightseeing to historical and spiritual sites in Kathmandu. Some of these landmarks are considered World Heritage Sites that include the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous 'Monkey Temple' (Swayambhunath) and Buddhists shrine (Buddhanath) which is one of the largest Stupas in the world.
  • Day 3(Fly to Paro from Kathmandu)
    Arrive Paro by Kathmandu by Druk air. The flight offers you beautiful view of mountains and landscapes. Upon your arrival you will be greeted by Red Carpet representatives. Afternoon and evening time at leisure. Overnight at the hotel in Paro.
  • Day 4(Paro Sightseeing)
    Visit Drukgyel Dzong, on the way visit Kychu Lhakhang. After lunch visit National Museum and Paro Dzong. Overnight at the hotel in Paro.
  • Day 5(Paro - Jele Dzong :)
    Start trek above the Museum and gradually climb upto Jele Dzong. Atl: 2590m, dist: 7 Kms. Overnight at camp.
  • Day 6(Jele Dzong - Jangchulakha :)
    The trail takes you through thick alpine forest and rhododendron tree. Camp site at the height of 2900m distance 10 km.
  • Day 7(Jangchulakha - Jimilangtso :)
    On the clear day, there are beautiful views of mountains and the valley. Campsite near the lake alt. 3350m. Distance 11 km. Overnight at camp.
  • Day 8(Jimilangtso - Phajoding :)
    The trail continues with gradual climb. If weather permits, beautiful views of Mount Gangkhar Phunsum can be seen. Campsite near the monastery alt. 3116 m. Distance 21 km. Overnight at camp.
  • Day 9(Phajoding - Thimpu Sightseeing :)
    The trek to thimpu is downhill through blue pine forest. Distance 8 km. Evening at leisure. Overnight at Hotel in Thimpu.
  • Day 10(Thimpu - Punakha / Wagdi :)
    Morning Thimpu sightseeing, visit Memorial Chorten, Painting School, National Library, Bhutanese Hand Made Paper factory. After lunch drive to Punakha across the Dochula Pass (Alt. 3050 m) where one can see the beautiful views of Eastern Himalayan Ranges. Overnight at Hotel in Wangdi.
  • Day 11(Punakha - Thimphu :)
    Visit Wangdi Dzong and later visit Punakha Dzong, which is the winter home of Central Monk Body (Je - Khenpo). On the way back visit Chimi Lhakhang and then transfer to Paro. Overnight at Hotel in Paro.
  • Day 12(Fly Back to Kathmandu)
    After the breakfast, you will be transferred in your private coach to the airport to fly back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted by Red Carpet representatives and will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel in Kathmandu.
  • Day 13(Free day in Kathmandu)
    Free day for you to explore Kathmandu, shopping for souvenirs or try any of our extra tour options such as the Everest Mountain flight. In the evening, you will enjoy delicious dinner with the whole group at one of Kathmandu’s local Nepalese restaurant. Overnight stay at the hotel after a beautiful evening.
  • Day 14(Departure)
    Our representatives will be waiting at the hotel lobby in the morning after you have your breakfast.  You will be transferred to the international airport in time for your onward flight journey.
