This windy hilltop at 2,000 m is also at a point where the Maoist-infested districts of Dang, Salyan and Rolpa meet.         Jugar, Tila & Hanning: These are the places where several wards of the VDC were searched, looted and women were raped by police from Holeri, Jugar, Tila Hanning andGhartigaon police post of Rolpa and Kapurkot of Salyan district.         Ghartigaon: is a village development committee in Rolpa District in the Rapti Zone of north-eastern Nepal. In the past, Holeri was the symbol of terror. The incident of Holeri attack on 12th February, 1996 and the Holeri raid on 12th July, 2001 where 71 police were arrested at the same time evaluated that it could intensively propagate the Maoists’ People’s war even at the international level.

It looked like a garrison town but the residents and government employees felt secure. This place had crisis for six long years due to unofficial curfew every evening and reports of people being killed every day during that time period.         Thabang: is a small village cloistered on the mid-western hill in Rolpa district with mostly ethnic Kham Magar community. Thabang suffered some of the worst devastations during people’s war as the army repeatedly bombed the guerrillas’ power base in series of deadly night raids. During the insurgency, the Maoists made Thabang the capital of their revolution. Almost all houses served as shelters for the rebels, and most people gave up their possessions and even their lives to the 'people's war'.
