Annapurna Base Camp trekking

Annapurna Base Camp trekking is one of the most popular trekking in Annapurna region. Annapurna Base Camp trekking is surrounded by a cirque of awe-inspiring peaks, including the awesome south face of Annapurna I (8,091m), in a natural amphitheater which is quite simply mind-blowing. The entire massif and the surrounding areas protected within the Annapurna conservation Area, the first and the largest conservation area in Nepal. It was established in 1986 by the king Mahendra Trust for Nature Conservation. The Annapurna Conservation Area is home to several world class treks, including the Annapurna Circuit.

Annapurna Base Camp or ABC Trekking is the most famous destination of trekking for travelers from all over the world as it offers many flora and fauna along with panoramic view of Himalayas.The Annapurna Base Camp trek is one the most popular trekking trail which starts from Pokhara after a short drive to Nayapul.

Terraced farmland and traditional villages with Pun and Gurung ethnics make this trekking more attractive. Trail ascends through ancient oak and rhododendron forest, across sparkling streams and past waterfalls. In the meantime even more appealing as the trek winds around different ridges towards Ghorepani, where you will enclose a magnificent outlooks of an early morning sunrise where a red radiance leaks through gleaming gaps over the snow topped peaks of the Annapurna & Dhaulagiri Mountains. Climbing up the Modi Khola valley towards the Sanctuary you are teased with views of towering peaks of Machhepuchhre (6,993m), Annapurna I (8,091m) and Hiunchuli (6,993m). As the gorge widens, we ascend to Machapuchare Base Camp (3,700m) on the lateral moraine of Annapurana South.

  • Day 1(Arrival in Kathmandu - 1300 m/4264 ft.)
      Arrival in Kathmandu. Our representative will wellcome you at the Tribhuvan Internationa Airport and Transfer to Hotel. 1340m. After check in, there will be a pre-trip discussion, introducing with your Trekking guide. You will have an opportunity to ask any questions related to the trekking program. You can either take a rest or hang around in the city depending on your interest and time constraint.
  • Day 2(Drive to Pokhara)
    After breakfast, you will drive (6 Hrs) to Pokhara. Then after check in to the hotel, you will have spare time either to sit & relax or else hang around in the streets of Pokhara & have lunch. Or in option, you can have your last minute shopping. Overnight at Hotel. 
  • Day 3(Drive to Nayapul & overnight at Ghandruk)
    With all your luggage and equipment, you will drive to Nayapul (1 hour 20 minutes’ drive). From Nayapul, you will trek to Ghandruk. You might want to visit the Gurung Museum, Ghandruk, today.Overnight at Ghandruk. Total trekking hours: 5-6 hours.  
  • Day 4(Trek to Kimrungdanda & Chhomrong)
    From Ghandruk, you will trek uphill for an hour or so to reach Kimrungdanda. Then a steep descent takes you to Kimrong Khola. After a steep ascent from Kimrong Khola to Chere Danda, you will trek downhill for a while, and then it’s a gentle walk to Chhomrong. Overnight at Chhomrong. (Total trekking hours: 5-6 hours)  
  • Day 5(Trek to Kuldihar)
    From Chhomrong, you will descend on crude stone steps, and then you will cross the Chhomrong Khola via a swaying suspension bridge. Then you will climb uphill for a while to Sinuwa, pass through forests to reach Kuldihar. From Kuldihar, it is an easy descent to Bamboo. Overnight at Bamboo. (Total trekking hours: 4-5 hours).  
  • Day 6(Trek to Deurali)
    Today you will trek uphill amidst Bamboo forests to reach Himalaya Hotel. Then a steep ascent will take you to Hinku Cave. Then the trail descends and again ascends to reach Deurali. Overnight at Deurali. (Total trekking hours: 3-4 hours).   
  • Day 7(Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC))
    Today you will set out on a strenuous trek to Machhapuchhre Base Camp. And from there you will trek to Annapurna Base Camp. Overnight at Annapurna Base Camp. (Total trekking hours: 5-6 hours).
  • Day 8(Trek back to Bamboo)
    Today you will trace your trail back to Bamboo. Overnight at Bamboo. (Total trekking hours: 7-8 hours).   
  • Day 9(Trek to Jhinu Danda)
    Today you will trek uphill to Kuldighar followed by a downhill trek to Chhomrong Khola. Then you will climb the stone steps to Chhomrong. Then the trail goes to Jhinu Danda. Overnight at Jhinu Danda.(Total trekking hours: 6-7 hours).  
  • Day 10(Trek from Jhinu Danda to Nayapul)
    Today you will trek from Jhinu Danda to Nayapul. You will board your vehicle at Nayapul, and drive to Pokhara (1 hour 20 minutes). Overnight at Pokhara. (Total trekking hours: 5-6 hours).  
  • Day 11(Drive back to Kathmandu)
    Today you will drive back to Kathmandu, transfer to hotel on arrival at Kathmandu, overnight at Kathmandu.  
  • Day 12(Final departure)
    You will be transferred to the airport by Red Carpet Tours & Travels’  representatives 2 hours prior to your flight.
